DECEMBER 2016

Parc Broekhuizen opened its doors in December 2016, met 22 suites & restaurant Voltaire in the main house. In the coach house more suites and a large events venue.

"The environment is fairytale-like and this qualification also applies to the interior." Interior architect Judith van Mourik redefined the classic grandeur of the Parc Broekhuizen estate with an injection of contemporary elegance.

by Marieke van Gessel for Residence magazine

The building has allusture and statelyness. The original paneling, marble fireplaces, high ceilings stays. Van Mourik contrasted a friendly and warm atmosphere. She designed a color-runner for the monumental oak staircase and used a combination of brass, velvet and marble to balance between old and new and sexy and tough.

The voyage of discovery through the surprising interior starts immediately in the hall. A pink-gold shiny, automatically opening sliding door makes you curious about what lies behind it. There is a lounge bar with pink velvet-covered chairs, pouffes, a bar and a subtle moving chandelier, designed by Van Mourik. Around 60% of the interior is custom-made.

The interior design of the rooms and suites are light, modern and with surprising and exciting contrasts, where form has not gone beyond function.
